This is a workshop, which focuses on the proper muscle recruitment needed for preventing injury and improving performance for skiing. The exercises are Pilates-based, focus on good knee alignment, posture and core activation for turning, carving, and powder skiing.

This workshop discusses the anatomy and biomechanics of the upper and lower extremities and common injuries associated with them. The Pilates-based exercises focus on injury prevention and rehabilitation of these common impairments and imbalanced movement patterns.
Saturday 24th: Pilates for upper extremities (Shoulder, Elbow & Wrist Pathologies)/ Rehab, 2pm-6pm
Sunday 25th: Pilates for lower extremities (Hip, Knee & Ankle Pathologies)/ Rehab, 9am-5pm

This is a workshop, which focuses on the proper muscle recruitment for swimming, running and cycling. The workshop discusses common injuries and muscle imbalances. The pilates-based exercises focus on good knee alignment, scapular control and core activation for triathlon training and can be used with occasional runners to those training for iron man competitions.

This is a workshop, which focuses on the muscle activation during golf and tennis, and common imbalances, which lead to injury. The exercises focus on improving golf swing and preventing injury. These exercises are great for those clients wanting to return to golf post back-injury, or tennis post-injury.

Penney Megginson is a qualified physiotherapist and certified Pilates Instructor with over 7 years of experience working in Miami, LA, San Francisco, Aspen, Sydney, Verbier and London.
Penney owned and operated her own Pilates studio and Holistic Health Centre “Total Body Approach” in Edinburgh for the past 3 years and taught Pilates instructor training courses and workshops. After two winter seasons in Verbier Switzerland, Penney decided to make the move to London and is offering her Pilates courses and workshops at Backlund Pilates Studio whilst offering Pilates/ Physio to private clients in London.
She has created and starred in her own fitness DVD – “Pilates forSkiing” (Skilates) filmed in Verbier 2006.
