Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training Program
COURSE OUTLINE
Directed by Backlund Pilates founder Madeleine Backlund, and certified by The Pilates Foundation, this comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training Program is set over twenty (20) months. The course comprises of a minimum of 1200 hours training, consisting of practical training, lectures, supervised teaching practice, home stud 400 apprenticeship hours which students must complete during the last 6 months of the course. On completion of the program, trainees will demonstrate a thorough understanding of anatomy and the Pilates repertoire. Having developed a solid foundation of knowledge, and an appreciation for careful analysis and communicative, compassionate teaching skills - graduating students will be eligible to sit the Pilates Foundation exam for teacher certification.

PRE-REQUISITES
- Applicants must have a First Aid certificate from the Red Cross or St. John's Ambulance. This may be acquired during the first 6 months of the course. The cost of this is not included in the training course fee.
- Applicants with a strong exercise or movement background such as classical dance training must attend a minimum of 25 personal Pilates sessions at Backlund Pilates immediately prior to commencing the teacher training. Students without a solid movement background must complete 50 personal sessions. Applicant must provide proof of attendance if they would like classes taken at an alternate studio to be considered. Backlund Pilates will determine if these are acceptable based on several factors.

APPLICATION PROCESS
The cost of our Comprehensive Program is £7000, inclusive of all lectures, classes, training manuals and hand-outs*. Upon acceptance to the course a non-refundable deposit of £500 must be paid to secure your trainee placement. To apply as a trainee for an upcoming Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training program at Backlund Pilates, please complete this online application. Final acceptance is will be based on background, physical fitness, ability to perform excercises, and an Interview which will indicate commitment and a passion for the work.

Pilates Bridging Course for Matwork Teachers
COURSE OUTLINE
This course is a fourteen (14) month Course for students that have already completed a mat-work course. Priority will be given to mat-work students from The Pilates Foundation, but all candidates can apply and students are chosen based on their knowledge, experience, strengths and motivations. In order to guarantee space and time in this small studio, a maximum of two (2) students per year are accepted into this program. Each student must complete the apprenticeship at Backlund Pilates Studio.
PRE-REQUISITES
- Applicants must have proof of previous mat-work training
- Applicants must show proof of sound proof of Anatomy and Physiology
- Applicants must have practiced Pilates at Backlund Pilates Studio, or show proof that they have attended a reputable Pilates studio for a minimum of 50 hours
- Applicants must have a First Aid certificate from the Red Cross or St. John's Ambulance. This may be acquired during the first 6 months of the course. The cost of this is not included in the training course fee.
- Applicants must show proof of having taught mat-work for a minimum of 50 hours
